Loot Drops - Rarities
You've probably noticed that the item descriptions have different rarities listed inside of some square brackets that look like this:
[COMMON]
[UNCOMMON]
[RARE]
[LEGENDARY]
This is because some designs will be unlimited - or common - and are planned to drop often as they are signature pieces - and as we grow we will try to keep this in stock and Ready To Ship (or RTS) as much as possible. Other designs are Legendary - that drop is the only time you will see them, they won't drop again, no matter how popular the demand. This could apply to a very special sentimental design, a design about a specific event, or a Guest design where they don't want it dropped repeatedly, as well as other situations that may come up. Below I will explain each rarity in more detail:
- Common: These are signature designs. They may be "upgraded" at a later date and replaced with a new version of the same concept, but the spirit of the design will exist indefinitely, eventually remaining in stock as much as possibly so as to be RTS. Class designs almost always fall under this category - See: Sorcerer and Druid.
- Uncommon: There are no restrictions on these designs, they will drop frequently or as demand warrants, but there will be no particular plans for ensuring it drops often or remains in stock. Some monsters, most creatures, and most sub-class designs will fall under this category. See: Nessie
- Rare: Rare items will drop once per product. This means that if it's dropped as a Sack of Snoozing there will be no plans to drop as a Sack of Snoozing second time, but you may see it as a zippie, blanket, bow, onesie, etc. Ideally as we grow we can drop a full set of products with the same design at once. There is a concept for random D20 drops for Rare and Retired designs but this is the only way a Rare design would be repeated on the same product, and it would be permanently retired after that. See: Mushie Deer and Narwhal
- Legendary: These, by their nature, will not exist very often. As mentioned above, these are mostly situational designs - based on events, a sentimental situation, or have restricted uses per Guest Artist agreement. I may come out with a Legendary design without any of these reasons at some point but more than likely it would be very few and far between.
It is important to note that the price of Legendary designs may very if it is a term of the agreement with a Guest Artist, and may or may not have their own special discounts, or none at all - when I do have Guest Artists I will be paying them a percentage of the profits from their designs, so prices will reflect that.
